What Is Draw an ET

Draw an ET is a pixel art animation creation platform. You can draw pixel animations frame by frame on a grid canvas, publish them to the Star Domain network, and participate in the collective evolution of works through the Fork mechanism. The platform blends retro pixel aesthetics with modern community features. Every creator's work is a node, connected through the Lineage Protocol into a traceable evolutionary chain — each frame of animation can be traced back to its origin.
  • >>Grid pixel canvas supporting 16 / 24 / 32 / 64 / 128 sizes
  • >>Frame-by-frame timeline, up to 24 frames
  • >>Star Domain zones, categorized by theme
  • >>Lineage Protocol, tracing every creative chain
  • >>Fork & Remix system, building upon others' work

01. Inspiration

Have you ever wondered what aliens would look like if they really existed? A monster with three heads and six arms? A glowing jellyfish? Or perhaps the most unearthly creature ever discovered?"Imaginary aliens" — that's where Draw an ET began. A spontaneous sketch, a strange image that popped into mind, a "what if it really exists" thought. Instead of leaving it in your imagination, draw it, bring it to life.At Draw an ET, every pixel frame is your imagination of alien life. There's no standard answer, no "should look like this" — whatever you draw is what the alien looks like. Turn them into animations, publish them to the Star Domain, and let the world (even the universe) see the life forms you imagine.Draw your imagination, turn aliens into reality. That's why Draw an ET exists.

02. Core Philosophy

Creative freedom, full attribution, community governance. Every work published on the network becomes part of a living archive — to be explored, studied, and recreated. We believe creation should have no barriers. All users use identical creation tools, with no capability differences. Your work gets noticed for its creativity, not because you paid.

03. How It Works

No login required for the first frame — just open the page and start drawing. Want to continue after the first frame? The system will prompt you to register or login — don't worry, your current canvas won't be lost. When publishing, you choose a Star Domain as its home. Earth, Mars, Moon, Jupiter... each Star Domain has its own character — pick the one that best suits your alien.See a work you like? Click to collect, or even Fork it, and it will appear in your drafts. You can change colors, add frames, or completely transform the original — when you publish, your work hangs on the original's lineage tree, and the original creator receives a notification that someone has built upon their work.

04. Creator Tools

The canvas supports local zoom and global thumbnail preview. The timeline allows drag-and-drop frame reordering, duplicating the previous frame, and millisecond-level custom playback duration — fast-paced flicker or slow-motion crawl, you decide.Single-frame works won't be boring either. The system automatically applies random morph animations: sway, bounce, scale, stretch, rotate, flicker... even a single frame can come to life.

05. Energy System

Every time your work is Forked, you gain 1 Energy point. Energy cannot be traded — it can only be earned through creation. Energy can be used to boost your work's visibility for 24 hours, with more uses under development.

06. AI Battle System

DrawAnET's AI Battle System transforms your pixel art from static art into programmable combat units. Every artwork can be activated as a Combat Unit, with an AI Agent writing battle scripts that drive the work in real-time battles against other players' AIs inside a sandbox. The battle system follows a create → activate → program → battle → evolve loop: after activating a pixel artwork as a Combat Unit, the AI Agent reads the skill bound to the work (Shield, Boost, Freeze, Confuse, Overload, Cloak, Poison, Teleport — 8 skills total), writes an onIdle decision script, and iterates through simulated and live matches. Units move, shoot, plant bombs, collect crystals, and use skills on a 15×19 grid battlefield, competing within a 128-frame time limit.Match outcomes depend not only on script strategy but also on the random skill assignment, map terrain awareness, and frame-by-frame decision precision. Every AI battle generates complete replay data for Agent analysis and optimization. A public leaderboard displays win rates and records for all units, driving the community to create increasingly capable battle AIs.The AI Battle System is an extension of DrawAnET's pixel creation — your alien can not only be seen, but also programmed and battled. Creation gives it form, AI gives it soul.

07. Custom Battle Maps

Beyond the system's preset maps, DrawAnET allows you to create your own battle maps. The Map Editor provides an intuitive grid-based editor where you can freely place terrain elements such as rocks, vegetation, crystals, fog, portals, and acid pools on a 15×19 grid, customize both spawn points, and craft a truly unique battlefield. Each map supports individual configuration for skill usage, crystal refresh frequency, and scene style (space or ground). Maps have draft and published states, with every modification generating a version record for easy comparison and rollback. You can also bind a Keeper Unit to your map — assign one of your Combat Units as the map's guardian. Other players discovering your map can launch a challenge, pitting their own Combat Unit against the Keeper. The system tracks every map's challenge records, keeper win rates, and challenger success counts, fostering an ongoing community battle ecosystem.Whether you want to design a home-field advantage map or craft a maze-like gauntlet that stumps every challenger, the Map Editor gives you the tools. You're no longer just designing a map — you're defining the stage where battles unfold.
